From the previous article, I had showed briefed ideas on what Jianware is and promise to give more illustration on this specific Tea Ware. Therefore, this blog is focusing on how Jianware are made. However, I am not going to provide the full detail by every step that this ware is made, but I will only show the important detail and generalize about their manufacturing.
How artists are making JianWare?
The Jianwares are made of clay, which is high in iron ore, and the ingredients or formula for Glaze are similar to the clay used to create the shape of the Jianzhan, combined with other natural ash such as plant, wood, etc. The Formula may depend on each artist.
After this stage, JianZhan which are already shape and the form and glazed would wait for dry and move to the firing process in the kiln that will fire in approximate 1300 degree celsius. However, There are two main types of firing methods: wood-fired and electric fired.
After fired process, Jianzhan is refined or only the qualified pieces will be selected to be used (selected by artist who made the products) and the unqulified pieces are not allow to be used and will be break or through away.
In general, Jianzhan are made focusing on two main points:
1.The Selection of Clay and the Formula for glazing from artists.
2. The Firing formula or firing technique from each artist.

This Blog is only proving the general and brief about how Jianware is being made only, there are many more step in detail about the manufacturing this Tea Ware that we can dive deep into.
Thank you for reading my article, hope you have an amazing day.
Stay Tuned for upcoming articles 🙂
