Dong Ding Oolong Teas is one of the Premium Oolong Tea from Taiwan. It is also one of the most famous Taiwanese oolong tea which is grown on Dong Ding Mount, located in central Taiwan in the height between 800 to 2000 meters. It has also known as Icy Peak or Frozen Peak Oolong Tea.

Similarly to most Teas, this great aroma Oolong has a hundreds Years of Story on how it existed to this world. Today, let me demonstrate for you guys.

In the late 19th century there was a scholar Ling Fong Chi who went to china to study. When he returned to his hometown, He brought back 36 tea plants from Wuyi Mountain to his hometown in LuGu on dong ding Mount. He sent 32 plants to his relatives and only kept 4 for himself. All 36 plants end up grown on LuGu area.

 Since the time of scholar Ling Tea production on Dong Ding mountain was extended to nearby MinJian and Jhushua townships. There are 5 harvest a year with the winter harvest providing the highest quality tea and closely followed by the Spring harvest tea.

Nowadays, Dong Ding oolong is known as one of the Premium oolong tea from Taiwan, also one of the most famous Taiwanese oolong tea which is grown in the height between 800 to 2000 meters.

How To Steep Icy Peak Oolong ?

Despite from Green Tea and White Tea, Most Oolong Tea need to use approximately      95°C of clean water to process steeping Tea, in order to get a good cup of Oolong Tea.

Firstly, you need to warm your Tea Pot, which is a basic step to brew every type of tea. Next, you need around 15 gram of DongDing for placing into your 200 ml Tea Pot. After that, pure clean hot water (around 95°C) in your Tea pot for about 3 seconds to clean Tea leaves and then pure it away. After this step, you now need to brew your Icy Peak Oolong by keeping 60 seconds in the first pot. For both second and third pots, spend about 40 second each. After the third steep, you can expend around one minute each depend on how strong you want your tea to be. Normally, You can step this Oolong up to 6 or 7 times.
