Tea through Seasons

By

I has once shared my tea routine during the day from the previous blogs, and also I the 6 tea types and giving suggestion on how and should each tea be steep. Today I would like to bring some benefit of tea and when should be the best time to consume those tea types.

This article would focus on how tea should be consumed each day during times of the year.

Warm season and Summer

I would suggest fresh tea and light roasted tea during warm whether. Since these types may help to cool down the heat and good for lung. I would suggest green tea, white tea, yellow tea, fresh or light roasted oolong, and Pu’er tea.

When and How to Consume?: I would share two of my favorite routines

1st One: I would recommend starting morning fresh with Green tea after you finish your breakfast since green tea does not only help to cool down, but it is known best for brain boosting that it is suitable for refresh your morning with. Then, you might have a big lunch or more dishes than breakfast; therefore it is good to have some Raw Pu’er or Ripe Pu’er to get digestion quicker and ready to get back to work. Afternoon tea break, I might suggest white tea for cool down the heat during summer and what it is known best for cooling down the temperature and great for lung. For evening time, you can have some flower tea such as chrysanthemum or a bit of light roasted oolong to relax during the summer or hot season.

2nd Option: It is normally for weekend or less busy day options. I would start my morning with quite fancy big breakfast and Yellow tea or homemade Hot Matcha, then I might do some work. After that, I would drink some white tea or flower tea such as chrysanthemum during or after lunch time. I often have Light roasted afternoon or evening tea. After dinner, I may add another Ripe Pu’er to get some digestion if I had big dinner during chatting time with my friends.

Cold Season and Winter

I would suggest heavy roasted tea for cold weather since this kind of teas can helps to warm up your heart and body. Those are like Black tea (Red tea in Chinese), heavy roasted oolong and Dark tea.

Jin Jun Mei (Black tea and known as Red Tea in Chinese)

When and How to Consume?: I normally start with black tea (Red tea in Chinese) before or after breakfast to warm up before starting my work since winter morning may get you freeze. Following with Dark tea after lunch, as I often have more lunch in the winter because it may easier to getting hungry in cool weather so dark tea such as Ripe Pu’er or Hunan FuCha can digest faster and make you feel healthier in winter. For afternoon and evening tea I may choose heavy roasted oolong or the same dark tea if I had a lot or big dinner.

Rainy Seasons

Rainy days may make you feel cold and it may easy to get wet so you may also need some tea to back up. Well, these may depend on where you live, as some areas may much cooler than the other. If you live in less cold whether like some area such as Southeast Asia like Cambodia, or some location in Australia like Sydney, I may suggest both light roasted Oolong and Heavy Roasted Oolong. However, if you live in much more colder areas, I may suggest Heavy Roasted Oolong such as Rock Tea (岩茶) and dark tea such as Ripe Pu’er and Hunan FuCha.

All in All, tea through season that I share today is related to my tea routine that I have consume during each time of the year and also getting from what I had read and learned. However, the consideration of tea may be different according to people preferences and how their body can absorb with, therefore it may take time to learn from yourself that what tea may suit you best during each time of the year. Lastly, I would like to hear from your tea routine, so please share me through the comments.

Thank for Reading.

Kind Regards,

Shawn 🙂
